
Winder Electrician means a person who tests, rewinds, reconditions, rebuilds, replaces and generally services electric motors, generators, alternators, transformers, control equipment, mobile machines and other related components in commercial, institutional and industrial establishments, and any other work that is usually performed by a journeyperson Winder Electrician.

What do these workers do?

Work on larger engines and systems.
Service electric motors, transformers, switchgears, generators and other equipment used to power machinery in commercial and industrial settings. They do some machining, and they recondition or modify shafts, commutators or other parts.
Wind, assemble and install various types of coils for electric motors or transformers and balance armatures or rotors. Like others in this group, they use welding, brazing and soldering equipment as well as hand tools.
