Dairy Production Technician

Dairy Production Technician is a person who operates and maintains farm equipment that sustains farm sanitation, herd health and breeding; feeds the dairy herd, milks cows, and cares for calves.

Dairy Product Technicians are part of the broader trade of General Farm Workers and share similar duties:

Operate farm machinery to fertilize, cultivate, harvest and prepare products for the market.

Regulate outdoor irrigation systems>, control weeds and identify plants and pests in order to apply pesticides to crops.

Clean barnyards and feed animals, such as cattle, hogs, poultry and horses. May also train, trim and shoe horses, as well as milk, dehorn and brand cattle.

Maintain farm machinery and buildings on all types of farms, along with the detecting diseases and health problems in crops and livestock.
